Denmark 2020-2021

These paintings are important to me, not only because of the memories they evoke, but also the period they were painted in. The years before covid were heavy and drenched in self reflection, and I am left with little memory of the sensations from those years apart from what I feel when I look at these paintings. .

Looking back on them now I recognise how difficult it was to find meaning, and how desperately I searched for something real in oppositions to the sociatal responsibilities I felt handcuffed by at the time. Ironically more so before covid than during the lockdown.
